A New Approach for Structural Optimization with Application to Wind Turbine Tower

This work takes the bionic bamboo tower (BBT) of 2 MW wind turbine as target, and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) is utilized to optimize its structural parameters. Specifically, objective functions are deformation mass. Based on correlation analysis, target optimization parameters were determined. Furthermore, Kriging model BBT was established through Latin Hypercube Sampling Design (LHSD). Finally, structure optimized with multiple objectives under constraints strength, natural frequency, size. The comparison shows that has an advantage in Load Case (DLC). reflected fact overall stability increased by 2.45%, while displacement decreased 0.77%. In addition, mass 1.49%. Correspondingly, steel consumption each will be reduced 2789 Kg. provides a scientific basis for design service.
